The Victron Cerbo GX is the brain of a Victron energy installation. VRM Portal — Monitor From Anywhere
The Victron VRM (Victron Remote Management) portal is a free cloud-based monitoring platform. With the Cerbo GX connected to the internet, you or your installer can see your system’s performance from any device worldwide. Monitor daily solar yield, battery state of charge, grid import/export, load consumption, and historical trends. Receive alerts by email if a fault occurs.
Generator Control
The Cerbo GX’s two relay outputs can be configured to automatically start and stop a generator based on battery state of charge, time of day, AC load, and other conditions. This automation eliminates manual generator management — the system runs itself.
Tank and Temperature Monitoring
Beyond energy monitoring, the Cerbo GX supports up to four tank level sensors (fuel, water, grey water, black water) and up to four wireless Ruuvi temperature sensors — making it an all-in-one monitoring solution for farms, lodges, and off-grid properties.
FAQ
Is a GX Touch display required with the Cerbo GX?
No. The Cerbo GX functions fully without a local display — monitoring is done via the VRM portal or the VictronConnect app. The optional GX Touch 50 (5″) or GX Touch 70 (7″) display adds a local touchscreen interface.
Does the Cerbo GX work with non-Victron batteries?
Yes. The Cerbo GX communicates with third-party batteries (Pylontech, BYD, Dyness, Hubble, etc.) via VE.Can or direct CAN-BUS connection, providing full battery visibility including cell voltages, temperature, and state of charge.
How does the Cerbo GX connect to the internet?
Via Ethernet (wired LAN) or Wi-Fi. For sites without internet, a USB 4G modem provides LTE connectivity for VRM access. The Cerbo GX also supports a local MQTT server for integration with home automation systems like Home Assistant.
