The BSL 5.12kWh is a 48V, 100Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery module optimised for South African residential solar installations. BSL uses Grade-A prismatic iron phosphate cells — the same chemistry used in Hubble, Pylontech, and Freedom Won batteries — at a price point that undercuts the major brands without compromising on cycle life or safety.

Grade-A Cells — Not All Lithium Is Equal
BSL sources Grade-A prismatic LFP cells that meet full factory specification for capacity and internal resistance. Grade-B or reject cells — sometimes found in budget batteries — have higher internal resistance, lower usable capacity, and fail earlier. The BSL’s Grade-A cells deliver consistent 100Ah capacity from cycle 1 to cycle 6,000.
Multi-Layer BMS Protection
The built-in Battery Management System monitors each cell for overvoltage (cell-level, not just pack-level), undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and temperature (both charge and discharge cutoffs). This multi-layer protection prevents battery damage from inverter faults, wiring errors, or extreme temperature events.
