About This Cable
This 6mm red solar DC cable is purpose-built for photovoltaic system wiring. The colour coding — red for positive, black for negative — is the South African solar installation standard and helps with circuit identification, fault-finding, and future maintenance of your system.

How to Order
Add the number of metres you need to your cart. For example, for a 10-metre run, add quantity 10. Cable is supplied as a continuous cut from the roll.
When to Use 6mm Cable
6mm cable is recommended for DC string runs between your solar panels and the inverter or combiner box. For runs longer than 15-20 metres, 6mm is the minimum cross-section recommended to keep voltage drop below 1-2% and maximise system output. Consult your solar installer for exact cable sizing calculations for your specific system.

Francois Louw –
The 6mm Solar PV DC Cable – Red (per metre) is excellent quality with solid insulation and good flexibility. Our installer approved of the build quality and said it was up to specification for the amperage. PowerVault delivered quickly and the coil arrived neatly packaged.
Kobus Venter –
Used the 6mm Solar PV DC Cable – Red (per metre) for our solar installation and it has been performing perfectly. The conductor is clean and the insulation handles the outdoor temperature well. PowerVault had it in stock and shipped the same day we ordered.
